Tomato Extravaganza - Plants that Thrive on the Central Coast!

Spring Sale:


Growing tomatoes on the Central Coast of California can sometimes be challenging due to cool, foggy summers. The Los Osos Valley Garden Club will be selling tomato plant varieties known to do well in our cooler, coastal climate. These tomatoes generally mature in the shortest number of days, and require less days of heat to ripen.

  • All tomato plant varieties are in 1 gallon pots with potting mix and organic fertilizer.

  • All tomato plants are NOW $3 EACH! Last Chance! (no tax is needed).

How to Purchase Tomato Plants:

  1. Find the plants you want from the list below.

  2. Email our club at with the type and number you would like to purchase.

Please include a phone number and let us know if we can text you or call you.

  1. Decide how you'd like to pay for your plants - You can pay by PayPal (We can use your phone number/email to send you an invoice), exact cash, or a check to LOV Garden Club.

  2. We will make arrangements with you as to when and where you can get your plants. You will be able to pick up your tomato plants curbside at a local Los Osos address.

1 plant

(Determinant—70 Days) Large (8-12 oz) Red, Cool Tolerant, Container, Hybrid; Celebrity tomatoes are exceptionally flavorful, vigorous, and easy to grow--making them a favorite among gardeners. Fruit are firm and crack free; plants are disease resistant. Perfect for salads; use fresh. Performs well in almost every region and under adverse conditions.

Better Boy:

4 plants (Indeterminate—70-75 days). High yields of smooth skinned, large fruit earn Better Boy a spot as one of the most popular tomatoes grown in the US and as one of our all time best sellers. The fruit has excellent classic tomato flavor with just the right balance of acid and sugar. This is a great slicing tomato. It is widely adapted throughout the country. Grow it in a tall cage or tie to a stake for support. Resistant to verticillium wilt (V), fusarium wilt (F), and nematodes (N).

Lemon Boy:

(Indeterminate-72 days). Lemon Boy hybrid is an eye-catching tomato with wonderful color and flavor. The deep globe fruit is slightly tangy, but also sweet and mild, meaty, and smooth — perfect for slicing. Adds visual interest to the garden! Vines grow rather tall, so be sure to stake or cage the plant.

Large Red Cherry

(Indeterminate—75 days). Cherry. Now that’s a straightforward name for a 1 ½” to 2” heirloom cherry! Highly productive plants produce throughout the season clusters of richly flavored cherries that are great in salads. (Indeterminate—60 Days) Small (0.35 oz) Gold Cherry Container Cool Tolerant Hybrid; One of the best varieties of cherry tomatoes, Sun Gold ripens to produce heavy yields of golden cherry tomatoes with a sweet fruity flavor. This tomato is popular in all climates as it produces well in both warm and cold conditions. Fruit matures quickly and is plentiful. Best fresh off the vine or in salads.
